Stratton Pond loop Itinerary:
Pre-trip:
There will be one or two meetings before the trip to go over packing lists, make sure everyone has the proper equipment, and go over sleeping arrangements.
Day 1 (Friday):
Leave from the Student Center at 2:00 PM (gear will be packed earlier this week)
Drive to the Trailhead
Begin hiking counter-clockwise around the Stratton Pond Loop Trail around 3:00 PM.
Hike for about 1.5 miles to a backcountry camping spot, with an ascent of about 200 feet in elevation.
Reach the campsite before sundown and set up camp.
Cook dinner and enjoy the campsite for the night
Day 2 (Saturday):
Wake up early (6:30-7:00) and have breakfast.
Begin hiking around 8:30 AM, continuing counter-clockwise around the Stratton Pond Loop Trail for about 3 miles to the summit of Stratton Mountain with an ascent of about 1200 feet in elevation.
Reach the summit by mid-afternoon and have lunch with a beautiful view.
Descend the mountain (2 miles) and set up camp at Stratton Pond campsite.
Have dinner and enjoy the tranquility of the campsite.
Day 3 (Sunday)
Wake up and have breakfast
Break camp and begin hiking around 9:00 AM
Follow the Stratton Pond Loop Trail to the trailhead, a total of about 5 miles.
Reach the trailhead by noon.
Return to Keene State College around 2:00 PM
