Join the Keene State College Outing Club for a thrilling day trip to the majestic Franconia Notch, NH, for an introductory course in ice climbing, offered through Acadia Mountain Guides. This is your chance to discover the exhilarating sport of ice climbing, perfect for anyone looking to explore the vertical world of winter.
Adventure Itinerary:
7:00 AM: Departure from Keene, behind the Hoot and Scoot.
9:00 AM: Meet in Lincoln to gear up and go over the day's plan.
10:00 AM - 4:00 PM: Dive into the world of ice climbing with our introductory course.
4:00 PM - 6:00 PM: Return to Keene with stories of icy conquest.
Gear Up for the Climb:
Gear Provided: Acadia Mountain Guides will equip you with the essentials for your ice climbing adventure. This includes harnesses, helmets, ropes, belay devices, ice tools, and crampons. With this professional-grade gear, you'll be ready to tackle the icy challenges ahead.
Gear Not Provided: Participants are responsible for their own cold weather attire. Please bring your warmest coats, snow pants, gloves, hats, and especially warm boots suitable for winter and snow travel. The boots should be sturdy and warm, as AMG will provide crampons that can securely attach to these boots for your climb.
What You Need to Know:

Equipment: All technical climbing equipment is provided. Remember to dress in warm layers and bring suitable winter boots.
