  Trip Details:

Keene State College Outing Club: 2-Night Trip to Acadia National Park

Dates: October 13th - 15th, 2023

Join the Keene State College Outing Club for an unforgettable 2-night adventure to the scenic Acadia National Park in Maine! This trip offers a great blend of guided outdoor climbing and hiking, perfect for those looking to experience nature at its finest.

Itinerary:

Friday, October 13th: Departure

2:00 PM: Depart from Keene State College. Make sure to grab lunch beforehand, as we will head straight to our vacation rental.

7:00-9:00 PM: Arrival at vacation rental. Unload and settle in, eat dinner then enjoy the evening.

Saturday, October 14th: Climbing Day

7:30 AM: Breakfast at the rental.

8:00 AM: Head to climbing location in Acadia National Park.

8:30 AM - 4:00 PM: Rock climbing adventure! This will be a guided experience, suitable for all skill levels.

6:00 PM: Return to vacation rental.

7:00 PM: Group dinner.

Sunday, October 15th: Day Hike and Return

7:00 AM: Breakfast at the rental.

8:00 AM: Depart for hiking trail.

8:30 AM - 12:30 PM: Enjoy a 4-hour hike, exploring the natural beauty of Acadia National Park (TRAIL TBD)

1:00 PM: Head back to vacation rental for a quick lunch and to pack up.

2:00 PM: van Departs for Keene State College.

7:00-9:00 PM: Estimated time of arrival at Keene State College.



What to Bring:

Climbing gear (if you have any; additional gear will be provided)

Climbing shoes

Harness 

Helmet

Chalk

Hiking boots or other Closed Toed shoes

Weather-appropriate clothing (Check the weather forecast!)

Pack for 2 days and bring a spare of socks and underwear

Water bottle and snacks

Personal toiletries

Cost:

$40 per person

A link for payment will be distributed to participants when a trip list is final or cash will be required at the pre trip meeting

The cost per person will include transportation, lodging, guided climbing, and park fees. Lunch and dinner will be provided, and we will stop for breakfast on our way to the park each morning. because of the expensive nature of the activities and vacation rental, scholarships will not be available for this trip

This trip will be application based, with participants being those who have shown real desire to learn how to climb, become more involved in the club, and who have devoted significant volunteer time.
